  33. Expert Installation Instructions:

  36. Please see manual.doc for more detailed installation instructions in
  37. addition to notes on performance and unsupported functionality. For the
  38. expert, here you go:
  39.  
  40. 1) You must have Microsoft's TCP/IP Protocol in addition to WinSock installed
  41.    and working. Other TCP/IP stacks WILL NOT WORK unless they support 
  42.    Microsoft's TCP/IP VxD Interface.

  44. 2) Install the ZanNet client just like any other Windows 95 network client.
  45.  
  46. 3) If you have on of the Unix systems listed above, FTP the appropriate 
  47.    binary to your Unix shell account's home directory. If not, FTP the files 
  48.    zanserv.c and zanserv.h to your account. Compile the C file with the
  49.    following command line:

  51.        cc -o zanserv zanserv.c
  52.  
  53.    You will need to modify the Telnet login script to reflect whatever
  54.    zanserv binary name you end up with (see step 4). No access to a Unix
  55.    compiler? Talk to your system administrator.
  56.  
  57. 4) After reboot, you should see a blue letter "Z" tray icon. Double click
  58.    on this to get the ZanNet setup dialog. In that dialog, click on the "Edit"
  59.    button to edit the Telnet login script. There are more instructions in 
  60.    that file.

  62. 5) Map a network drive through any of the Windows 95 network drive mapping
  63.    facilities. You will be prompted for a password for your Telnet session.

  65. 6) Use the drive letter normally. Consult manual.doc for restrictions.
